NAS Jax Air Show - {Jacksonville Photographer}

Attended my first Air Show this weekend! It was the NAS Jacksonville Air Show in, well, Jacksonville, Fl.   What a great time!  I have to tell you my heart stopped a few times as these insanely talented pilots flew crazy loops, through fire and upside down.  I took so many, I will be narrowing down what finally gets edited for a little while.  In the mean time, I knew this was my favorite as soon as I snapped it.  The Immortals put on a heck of a fiery show.  More to come, including the Blue Angels!

Macro Monday - Mushrooms!

I don't know if it was because it had rained so much during the preceding weeks, but there were mushrooms everywhere in the back yard.  Different types of mushrooms at that.  And it wasn't just limited to my yard, but in yards around the neighborhood and the nearby park areas too.

So what is one to do with these mushrooms?  Well I say, macro them!  Here is just one of several images I took.   Come back next week for more, but in the meantime, here's one of my favorites.

Catherine - 2015 Senior {Tampa Bay Photographer}

During my last visit to Tampa, I had the great fortune to photograph Catherine's senior photos.  It was a session that almost didn't take place.  Forecasts were for rain, but we kept our fingers crossed and thankfully held off long enough for us to get in about 30 minutes.  Catherine rocked the limited session and we ended up getting some really great shots.  BTW - those are her eyes!  Not photoshop - it's all mom and dad's work!

THOMAS - {2015 High School Senior Photographer}

I was so happy to be able to photograph Thomas for his senior photos.  His mom, Laurie was so great working with me to time the session during one of my trips back him to Tampa.  

Thomas is one of four brothers that you've seen on my blog a few times.  It's hard to believe that he's a senior already - maybe in part because my youngest is also a senior this year - oh jeeze - really?  How did that happen already? Time is flying!  So sorry - back to the session…

I absolutely love the location and can't believe I had never held on here before.  It won't be the last time, that's for sure.  Where you ask?  Fred Howard Park in Tarpon Springs.  So many options.  When you enter the park, there's some nice Florida greenery with lots of native palms and underbrush.  We didn't get to shoot in this area, but I will next time.  Once you are through the park, there is a road out to this small stamp of beach, complete with rocks, life guard stand, beautiful white sand, water and sun!  

Congratulations Thomas!  Have a great senior year.  

Macro Monday Returns - {Jacksonville Photographer}

Admittedly, I had not been very regular with my Macro Monday posts even before our move this summer to Jacksonville, but it has been a particularly long break since my last post.

While dragonflies are a familiar subject for me, I though it fitting that this guy mark my return to Macro Monday posts.  There are SO many dragonflies in Jacksonville!  I see them all the time and EVERYWHERE!  And quite the variety of them as well.   I hope to capture the various species in the coming months.  

Alexa and Danny {Jacksonville Family Photographer}

As promised yesterday, more photos from my session with Alexa and Danny this summer down in South Florida.   They were such fun and so energetic!  Not going to lie, I was sweating a little in the Florida summer heat trying to keep up with them.  Totally worth it!!

Alexa and Danny Sneak Peek - {Jacksonville Family Photographer}

It's been a crazy summer with my family's move to Jacksonville, Florida.  We are almost completely moved...well my husband is...but the girls and I still have one foot (and my computer) in Tampa.  My computer will be there this weekend and hopefully I will be able to get caught up on some editing that had to be put on hold before the house was packed up.  I'm looking forward to getting to shoot again soon and meeting Jacksonville families!  Of course, I will not completely leave Tampa behind (my oldest is staying for college and most all of my family is there), so I will definitely be having special weekend sessions throughout the year.

I wanted to share this shot of Alexa and Danny really quickly.  You last saw them when Danny was born.  You can see those pictures here.  We were in Pompano Beach visiting friends a few weeks ago before the move and I was so excited to see them again (and my friend, their mom, Alison!)   More to come, but for now...

THEATRE POSTER - {Tampa Bay Photographer}

Steinbrenner High School's Theatre Department is arguably the best theatre program in Hillsborough County.  And although you could say that I am a little biased since my daughter is part of the schools thespian troupe, you'd be right, BUT, that doesn't make my statement any less true!

I could go on and on about the program's amazing head Mrs. Painter  and the insanely talented and generous Mr. Jim who builds the most awesome sets, the incredibly talented students, and the wonderful Friends of Steinbrenner Theatre (aka FOST) boosters, but that could be a whole other post!

I had the honor of shooting images from the productions as well as create a poster for each throughout this season.  The images that follow are of a Commemorative 12 x 18 poster representing this concluded 2012 - 2013 season.  The poster is printed on Miller's Classic Felt press paper, which I LOVE!  It's so smooth and luxurious as well as heavyweight.  The paper is acid free and of archival quality.   

I am so excited to be able to donate a quantity of them to the school to sell as the final fundraiser for this  year.  If you are interested in purchasing one ($10 each), please contact Mrs. Painter at the school or email me and I will put you in touch with her!

LAYFLAT BOOKS - {Tampa Bay Photographer}

In honor of my own senior's last day of high school today, I am posting pics of the layflat books I did for the seniors on the University of Tampa's softball team!

This is my third year creating books for the UT's softball seniors and I was really pleased with the changes that I made this year to the cover and layouts.  Inside the book are actions shots from the season, images of team traditions, practices and a couple of portraits all to remind them of their time on the team in the years to come.  It's a great gift from the Coach.

    

LayFlat books are available with custom image covers as well as leather in a variety of colors. 

Page options include smooth, smooth with a gloss finish and pearl!  I went with gloss for this book.  Pearl is beautiful for softer themed books such as a baptism, senior or engagement photos.

  

The book lays flat (thus the name) when opened allowing for images to cross the center of the book allowing for creative spreads.
